Clare was my cousin Margaret´s daughter, and whilst we are very close, I live in Mexico, so only got to meet Clare twice in her short life. The first time was at the evening party of Rosemary Dillon´s wedding, when I think that she was about two years old, and she sang 'Uptown girl' to the delight of all there!! The second time we met was at a lunch at her Grandma´s house in Adlington, and by then Clare was all grown up! And whilst she didn´t perform 'Uptown girl' that time, she did sing out of sight from the kitchen, and it was so beautiful that her voice lives on forever in my memory.. R.I.P. lovely lady
